The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to face off for Game 2 against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday after taking Game 1 by a final score of 2–1. The Dodgers’ starting pitching has continued to excel in October, with left-hander Blake Snell tossing eight scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out ten hitters.
Los Angeles has featured the most dominant group of starters in the MLB playoffs, with Shohei Ohtani and Tyler Glasnow in the back end of the postseason rotation. With Yoshinobu Yamamoto getting the ball for Game 2, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts did not reveal the plan for who will get the ball on the mound for the next two games of the NLCS on Monday.
However, Roberts shared the decision with reporters on Tuesday. The Dodgers manager decided that Glasnow would get the ball for Game 3, with Ohtani going for Game 4, according to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya.
Glasnow had been removed early from the NLDS Game 4 clincher over the Philadelphia Phillies after experiencing cramps toward the end of his start, yet it appears to be past him as he prepares to face Milwaukee’s lineup on Thursday.
This move also allows Los Angeles to have Glasnow available for a potential Game 7, with Ohtani also available in relief for a potential win-or-go-home matchup. What is interesting about this scenario is that if Ohtani does come in as a reliever for Game 7, he would have to play the field once he is removed from the mound, otherwise Los Angeles would lose his bat in the lineup.
Tyler Glasnow will start Game 3, Shohei Ohtani Game 4, Dave Roberts said.

Glasnow has continued to operate as one of the unsung heroes in the Dodgers’ rotation. Health has always been the biggest concern for the 32-year-old right-hander, as he missed the entirety of the 2024 postseason last year and a big chunk of 2025 as well. Still, when he is available, he has struck out hitters at a high rate. In 18 starts during the regular season, Glasnow logged a 3.19 ERA, 1.096 WHIP and 106 strikeouts in 90 1/3 innings of work.
During his last start against Philadelphia, Glasnow dominated despite the cramps forcing his early exit. Over six innings, he limited the dominant Phillies lineup to just two hits and struck out eight. With Glasnow fully healthy, he will look to continue excelling for Los Angeles in Game 3 and play a role this time around as the franchise attempts to secure back-to-back World Series titles.
