Dodgers infielder expresses unhappiness about his playing time

The Los Angeles Dodgers appear to have an unhappy player on their hands.

Dodgers infielder Hyeseong Kim spoke this week in an interview with the Korean media. During the interview, Kim sounded off on his disappointment with the team over his lack of playing time in 2026.

“The fact that I was only in the Major Leagues for about a month—that’s what hurts the most,” said Kim, per Dodgers Nation. “I want to play in the Major Leagues for a long time, but I wasn’t able to make that happen.”

Kim, 27, signed with the Dodgers in 2025 after previously being a Golden Glove Award winner and a stolen base leader in his native South Korea. While Kim did appear in 71 games for the Dodgers in 2025 and won a World Series ring, his reps took a major dip in 2026.

The lefty-hitting Kim only made 43 total appearances for the Dodgers in 2026, batting .259 with one home run, 11 RBIs, and five stolen bases. He spent the majority of the season playing in Triple-A for the Oklahoma City Comets of the PCL instead.

Of course, Kim was the one who decided to sign with the loaded Dodgers in the first place, voluntarily turning down the opportunity to potentially receive more playing time with another MLB team. Kim has not exactly shown too much either during his time in Los Angeles, but now he is expressing some discontent after the Dodgers were swept in the NLCS by the Milwaukee Brewers.
