Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw finished his career on top, retiring as a back-to-back World Series champion.

Kershaw announced his decision with just weeks left in the regular season, and his teammates carried him on a deep postseason run, a fitting tribute to a pitcher who carried the franchise for much of his 18-year career.

The 37-year-old southpaw will likely enter the Hall of Fame when first eligible given his remarkable list of accolades.

Kershaw collected a National League MVP Award, three Cy Youngs, five ERA titles, 11 All-Star selections, a Gold Glove Award and three World Series championships. He finishes with a 2.53 ERA, a 223–96 record and membership in the exclusive 3,000-strikeout club, ending with 3,052.

Even in his final season, despite diminished velocity, he remained effective, posting an 11–2 record and a 3.36 ERA across 23 appearances.

With baseball now behind him, Kershaw has shifted his focus to family life. On Tuesday, he took to social media to announce the birth of his fifth child, sharing photos of the newest addition.

“Meet Chloe Peach Kershaw, who joined our crew and arrived on December 19th! She’s perfect and her brothers and sister are obsessed with her. We are grateful for the gift of her life!” he wrote on Instagram.

Kershaw and his wife, Ellen, have long been known for their strong family values and community involvement. Their household already included four children — Cali Ann, Charley, Cooper and Chance — before welcoming Chloe.

Clayton Kershaw Steps Into Life After Baseball

For a player who defined consistency and excellence on the field, Kershaw’s legacy now extends to the life he is building away from it, surrounded by family and the next chapter of his story. Beyond family life, Kershaw is also turning his attention to his longtime philanthropic work through Kershaw’s Challenge, the charity he and his wife Ellen founded.

As the organization states, "Kershaw’s Challenge is a faith based, others focused organization. We exist to encourage people to use whatever God given passion or talent they have to make a difference and give back to people in need."

For now, his focus is on his family and foundation rather than baseball. Kershaw has not expressed interest in becoming a coach at this point in time and is stepping away from the game entirely.

His legacy as one of the greatest pitchers of his generation is secure, and his next chapter will be defined by the impact he makes beyond the mound.
