The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to look for the perfect pitching combination. Here is the latest via the team’s official X account:
The Dodgers recalled RHP J.P. Feyereisen and designated RHP Yoendrys Gómez for assignment.

Gómez’s brief time with the Dodgers comes to a close after a tumultuous three outings. The 25-year-old waiver claim was great in his debut, going three innings with no runs allowed and four strikeouts.
However, he was roughed up in consecutive appearances against the Miami Marlins, bringing his season totals to a 14.54 ERA, a 7.68 FIP, and two home runs allowed over four and 1/3 innings.
Gómez’s metrics are discouraging, and neither his fastball velocity nor breaking ball movement was special enough for Los Angeles to keep him on the roster.
Meanwhile, the recent addition of Feyereisen will have an opportunity to prove himself out of the bullpen. This is his second stint with the Dodgers after making ten appearances as a reliever in 2024. Feyereisen was racked for an 8.18 ERA and a 6.71 FIP over 11 innings, but Los Angeles must have seen something worthy of another audition.
The Dodgers are sorely depleted with starters such as Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell on the 15-day injured list, and Shohei Ohtani not particularly close to a return. Clayton Kershaw has been making rehab starts, but he is also 37-years-old and needs to be preserved for later in the season.
Los Angeles has gotten creative with its bullpen usage of late, featuring guys like Jack Dreyer and Ben Casparius as openers.
Feyereisen is a career reliever, and while he could be in line for some long-relief work, he is likely better off as a complementary piece.
