Dodgers place Dustin May on 10-day IL with arm injury

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without Dustin May for at least 10 days.

May was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with an arm injury, the team announced.

May suffered the injury in the second inning of Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. He threw a 94 mph fastball to Billy McKinney before calling for trainers as he grimaced in pain.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said May felt "kind of a shooting sensation" through his arm during Saturday's game and is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday, according to Dodgers Insider.

The 23-year-old is 1-1 in five starts this season with a 2.74 ERA and 35 strikeouts. He beat out David Price for the final rotation spot during spring training.

With May sidelined, Roberts said the Dodgers might use a four-man rotation in the interim.

The Dodgers are also dealing with pitching injuries to Price, Corey Knebel, Brusdar Graterol, Tony Gonsolin and Joe Kelly.
