Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Ryan Pepiot from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.

In a corresponding transaction, the club placed veteran left-hander David Price on the injured list with left wrist inflammation.

Pepiot, 25, is making a return engagement to the Dodgers, with whom he is 2-0 this season with a 4.02 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings over seven games. At Oklahoma City, he is 8-0 with a 2.58 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 16 games (14 starts) and 80 1/3 innings.

Pepiot is expected to pitch in Sunday night's home game against the San Diego Padres, following left-hander Caleb Ferguson, who will serve as the opener.

Price, 37, has made 38 relief appearances for the Dodgers this season, going 2-0 with a 2.58 ERA and one save in 38 1/3 innings pitched. The 2012 American League Cy Young Award winner was the No. 1 selection by the Tampa Bay franchise in the 2007 draft.

In 14 major league seasons, Price is 157-82 with a 3.32 ERA and two saves with the Rays, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and Dodgers.
