Dodgers Reveal Big Freddie Freeman News on Monday

Freddie Freeman grew up a fan of the Los Angeles Angels, but he began his Major League Baseball career with the Atlanta Braves. After playing in Atlanta from 2010 through 2021, the left-handed slugger returned to his Southern California roots—but signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers instead of the Angels.

Since joining the Dodgers, Freeman has continued to hit at an elite level. The early part of the 2025 season was no exception.

On Monday evening, the Dodgers opened a road series in Miami against the Marlins, and Freeman wasted no time making his presence felt. He launched his 350th career home run, marking a major milestone in his storied career.

The Dodgers’ official social media account congratulated Freeman with a post that read:

"Congratulations Freddie on 350 career home runs!"

The milestone blast came in the third inning and extended the Dodgers' lead to 3–0. Shohei Ohtani was on base at the time, adding to the significance of the moment. It was Freeman’s seventh home run of the season.

Freeman has hit 20 or more home runs in four consecutive seasons. The only recent exception was during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, when he hit 13 homers in just 60 games.

A career .300 hitter, Freeman entered Monday’s game batting .333 for the season. His postseason resume is just as impressive; he has appeared in 62 playoff games and hit 14 home runs. Notably, during the Braves' 2021 championship run, Freeman hit five home runs in 16 postseason games. In last year’s playoffs, he added four more in 13 games.

Later in Monday’s game, Shohei Ohtani also homered, belting his ninth of the season. The Dodgers are beginning a seven-game road trip that includes three games in Miami followed by a four-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

As of Monday, Los Angeles sat atop the National League West standings, narrowly ahead of the surging San Diego Padres.
