The Los Angeles Dodgers went into the All-Star break on a four-game winning streak after a 10-5 victory that completed a season sweep of the Los Angeles Angels.

The Freeway Series finale at Dodger Stadium was also notable in that the announced attendance was 53,057, which gave the Dodgers their largest home crowd of the season. The previous high was a Dodger Stadium attendance of 52,975, which came during a June 3 matchup against the New York Yankees.

The record crowd on Saturday was treated to another offensive explosion as the Dodgers combined to hit four home runs in the win. Mookie Betts broke the franchise record for most leadoff home runs in a single season with his 10th, and Freddie Freeman, J.D. Martinez, Max Muncy and David Peralta went deep as well.

Prior to the game, Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura threw out the ceremonial first pitch for Japanese Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium. The Lakers re-signed Hachimura to a three-year contract that is worth a reported $51 million.

Overall this season, Dodgers attendance has reached 2,169,032, and they are the only team to surpass the 2 million mark thus far. L.A. is on pace to exceed 3 million in home attendance for the 10th time in the past 12 seasons.

The only exceptions during that span are the pandemic-impacted 2020 season when fans were not permitted and in 2021 because of limited attendance being allowed for a portion of the schedule.

Last season the Dodgers set the 2022 MLB record for largest crowd with 53,302 announced attendance on Freddie Freeman bobblehead night at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers extend Freeway Series record

The Dodgers have won their last 10 games against the Angels, which is their longest winning streak in Freeway Series history. Before the current stretch, the Dodgers won eight head-to-head matchups in a row against the Angels from August 5, 2014-September 8, 2015.
