The Los Angeles Dodgers have struggled recently and are on a three-game losing streak. At 24-17, they remain in a solid position and will look to rebound in their upcoming series against the San Francisco Giants.

Despite the skid, the team has continued to get production from its stars, including catcher Will Smith. The 31-year-old is known for his plate discipline, consistent power and strong game-calling, earning an All-Star selection last season and finishing 20th in MVP voting.

He has remained productive in 2026, posting a .270 batting average, .336 on-base percentage and .710 OPS with three home runs and 16 RBIs across 34 games.

There is still plenty of time for Smith to hit an even higher stride this season and elevate his play for the club. As the Dodgers prepare for Tuesday’s matchup against the Giants, Smith shared a personal update on Instagram alongside his wife, Cara Smith.

The couple announced they are expecting another child, revealing the news through a collaborative post featuring ultrasound photos, with both parents posing alongside their young daughters, Charlotte (October 2022) and Layton (October 2024).

The caption included a shoutout to Smith, “growing our little fam✨ **shoutout to Will for his photography skills,” it read.

As Smith prepares to welcome another child, the milestone could serve as added motivation to stay locked in this season. He has spent his entire career with the Dodgers after being selected in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft.

In 2024, he signed a 10-year, $140 million contract extension with Los Angeles. A key piece of the team’s core and a leader in 2026, Smith remains firmly established as the Dodgers’ starting catcher for the foreseeable future.
