Dodgers Youngster Predicted to Have Low Trade Value Around MLB

The Los Angeles Dodgers are loaded with talent, and unfortunately, that means a few youngsters will likely be without a big league job after spring training.

And to make matters worse, the Dodgers have plenty of players on their current roster who could be valuable Big League players for a different organization, including James Outman.

Outman was expected to be a decent player for the Dodgers one day, but he hasn't necessarily had the opportunity to prove he can be just that.

The 27-year-old has struggled during parts of his big league journey, which has spanned over 632 at-bats, but there are signs of him being a good player, evident by his 23 home run campaign in 2023.

For the Dodgers, the right thing to do would be to move him to a different team.

Whether for a prospect or a big league arm, someone should be willing to give something up for him.

Rachael Millanta of Just Baseball believes the best option for the Dodgers is to move him for a low-level prospect, making his value relatively low.

"The best option for the Dodgers is to trade Outman and hope to get a low-level prospect and/or Competitive Balance Draft pick in return. No player they get in exchange for Outman right now is going to offer any upgrade to their existing talent at the major league level, but they may be able to land a return that offers value in the future," Millanta wrote.

Millanta makes some valid points, as the Dodgers are essentially set on both sides of the baseball.

However, teams can never have enough pitching, so if a team would be willing to move on from an arm, that would be the best scenario.
