The Arizona Diamondbacks farm system continues to draw attention as two of their top prospects, Druw Jones and Jordan Lawlar, have been highlighted in Keith Law’s recent top prospect rankings. The new list, published after the draft, has Jones moving from No. 41 to No. 28 while Lawlar remained stagnant at No. 4.

Jones, a former 2nd overall pick of the Diamondbacks, recently played in the MLB Future’s Game. This season, Jones is hitting .273 at the plate, and he has already had more plate appearances this year than in any other season of his minor league career.

The Diamondbacks’ front office has remained confident in Jones. Ranked as Arizona’s third-best prospect, he was declared “untouchable” by General Manager Mike Hazen last year. Originally drafted out of high school, Jones has now played a total of 105 games in Single-A. Over the last 28 days, he has gone 15/51 at the plate with an OPS of .822.

As for Jordan Lawlar, it has also been a story of injuries. Recently, Lawlar faced another setback, as he injured his hamstring causing him to be out for 6-8 weeks. Lawlar made his major league debut at the end of last season but failed to make this year’s Opening Day roster as the Diamondbacks opted for Blaze Alexander instead. With injuries getting in the way, Lawlar has played just four games with the Reno Aces this season in Triple-A.

Elsewhere in Law’s top prospect rankings, Jackson Holliday, despite going 3/54 at the plate when he was called up by the Orioles, remains at No. 1. Then, Marcelo Mayer replaced Jackson Chourio at No.2, Junior Caminero (previously No. 5) replaced Ethan Salas at No. 3, and Colt Emerson took over at No. 5 behind Lawlar.
