Edwin Diaz’s Legend Keeps Growing With His Epic Entrance

Edwin Diaz has been one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball over the past few seasons.

Not only has his ability to throw gas on the mound been exciting for so many baseball fans to watch, but his epic entrance to trumpets has also captivated baseball fans in all walks of life.

Last night, he pitched the eighth inning for the New York Mets and was not in his typical closer role, but his entrance was just as epic, as Mets fans began to “sound the trumpets.”

Diaz allowed a hit and walked a batter, but he worked around it and struck out a batter for a scoreless eighth inning.

Sound The Trumpets

Diaz sure knows how to sound the trumpets and he did it again last night, throwing some gas to Colorado Rockies hitters and helping pave the way for a much-needed victory for the Mets after having been swept by the New York Yankees in a two-game series.

Diaz earned his third hold of the season as Adam Ottavino closed the door in the ninth inning with his first save of the season.

Diaz also lowered his ERA to 1.43 on the season.

He has been the primary closer for the Mets this season.

He’s 2-1 in 50 appearances and has earned 28 saves in 31 opportunities.

Though he didn’t close the door, he still was his usual dominant self.

He sounded those trumpets and delivered a scoreless inning when the Mets needed it most, helping secure Jacob deGrom‘s third win since returning from the injured list.

Mets fans hope they can sound those trumpets all the way through October and win their first World Series since 1986.
