ESPN Insider Makes Ridiculous Dodgers Claim About 2025 Season

With the loads of talent and depth that the Los Angeles Dodgers have going into the 2025 MLB season, many would believe they have a great chance to win 100 games and are the odds-on favorite to win the National League pennant.

However, one ESPN insider believes the World Series defense will come with a little bit of adversity for the Dodgers, and they actually WON'T reach the 100-win mark or make the Fall Classic.

In a "Bold Claims" article for all NL teams, ESPN's Eric Karabell says this about the Dodgers:

"The Dodgers win 96 games, but not the NLCS."

While the prediction is quite bold with the additions Los Angeles made this offseason and getting two-way star Shohei Ohtani back on the mound, the national league is still extremely deep with solid squads in the Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets, and Atlanta Braves.

However, all of those teams have their respective question marks, whereas the Dodgers have one of the best lineups ever, the best rotation, and flamethrowers in the bullpen.

The Dodgers won 98 games last season but were hampered with injuries in the starting rotation for a bulk of the year.

What the Dodgers did this offseason is nothing short of remarkable. The way they were able to reload and address their main issues while not losing anyone notable is what makes this claim slightly bogus. It's rare that after winning a World Series, a team gets exponentially better the next off-season.

This isn't to say reaching 100 wins is some slight task, but if there is a team that should be the favorite to reach the mark, it would be the Dodgers.
