Former $21 Million World Series Champion Has 2-Word Message for Lowly White Sox

Barring anything disastrous over the next three months, the Chicago White Sox are on track to call their 2025 season a relative success.

No, Will Venable's club won't return to the postseason or finish with a winning record. However, the 28-58 White Sox are only 14 wins away from surpassing last year's 41 victories, which in itself should absolutely be considered an accomplishment.

Longtime MLB infielder Jerry Hairston Jr. is impressed with the White Sox, though for reasons beyond their on-field play. Chicago's latest loss came on Wednesday night, when the bullpen turned a 4-2, ninth-inning lead into a 5-4 loss.

Rather than share the final score, the White Sox's Twitter/X admin used the club's final post of the night to celebrate Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw's 3,000th career strikeout.

"FINAL: Congratulations to Clayton Kershaw on 3,000 career strikeouts," the account wrote.

"First Class," replied Hairston, a former Dodgers player and current TV analyst.

Hairston played with Kershaw on the Dodgers from 2012-13, and he clearly appreciated the White Sox's gesture. Many social media users shared Hairston's feelings, commending the White Sox on a "classy" post that recognized one of the greatest pitchers in modern history.

Hairston posted his own message for Kershaw on Instagram.

"Congrats to an incredible player & even better teammate," Hariston wrote after the Dodgers' victory. "Continued success."
