The Baltimore Orioles do not have much to write home about to this point in the 2025 season.
While only one long-time regular, Cedric Mullins, has been consistently productive through their first 33 games, he still only has an .870 OPS, and the team's combined mark in that metric sits at .687, good enough for 18th in MLB.
The list of former top prospects in the lineup is a lengthy one. With Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman already established as household names, another former top prospect is familiar to fans, but more for his father than anything he has done to this point in his Major League tenure. That may soon change, however.

The Orioles drafted Jackson Holliday, son of former Major Leaguer Matt Holliday, with the first overall pick of the 2022 MLB draft. The young stud made his Major League debut last year, finding his way into 60 games, but not being very productive offensively in the process.
In 2024, Holliday batted just .189/.255/.311 with five home runs, 23 RBI and a 65 OPS+ across 208 plate appearances. This year has been a much smaller sample size so far, but he has made a complete turnaround in his performance.
Through 28 games this year, Holliday has batted .273/.340/.443 with four home runs, 11 RBI and a 129 OPS+. He does not qualify for the batting title yet, though he is close, but if he did, his .783 OPS would rank second on the team.
Jackson Holliday has arrived.

The 21-year-old is hitting over .360 in his last seven gamespic.twitter.com/jpKlMX1u1M
While his numbers for the year are solid, the lion's share of that production has come over his last seven games. In that span, the second baseman has batted .400/.455/.700 with two home runs and three RBI, while recording at least one hit in all but one of those contests.
It has been a magnificent showing of late from Holliday, and he has put Baltimore in a better position to win ballgames. With the lack of production they have gotten from the rest of the lineup to this point in the year, his breakout could not have come at a better time.
