The Atlanta Braves released former Cincinnati Reds reliever Buck Farmer on Tuesday. Farmer signed a minor league deal with Atlanta back in February.

The 34-year-old did not make the team and was sent to Triple-A Gwinnett, where he gave up five runs in 4 2/3 innings.

Farmer pitched for the Reds from 2022 to 2024, appearing in 176 games with an ERA of 3.68. He is coming off his best season with Cincinnati, where he had an ERA of 3.04 in 61 games.

The veteran has been in the big leagues for 11 years and it wouldn't be surprising to see another team give him a shot this season.

Could there be a reunion with Farmer and the Reds? If he's willing to accept another minor league deal, the fit could make sense. He would offer added depth to an already deep pitching staff.
