Former Dodgers Outfielder Signs With San Diego Padres: Report

Locastro will immediately join the Padres in big league camp, and spend the next three weeks trying to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster.

Locastro was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2013, and was traded to the Dodgers in 2015.

The speedy outfielder made his MLB debut in 2017 with Los Angeles, but would only appear in 21 games with the Dodgers across the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

After the 2018 season, the Dodgers traded Locastro to the New York Yankees, who traded him less than two months later to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Locastro enjoyed two of the best seasons of his career in Arizona in 2019 and 2020, before playing for the Yankees and New York Mets over the last few seasons.

In 2023 with the Mets, Locastro hit .232 with two home runs and three RBIs in 43 games. His .731 OPS was the second-highest of his career, only trailing his .859 OPS in 33 games in 2020.

Locastro's career slash line is .228/.327/.337 with an OPS of .664. He has nine career home runs to go along with 38 RBIs and 45 stolen bases. He's played all three outfield spots in his career.
