Former Milwaukee Brewers Starter with 18.00 ERA Called Up by Houston Astros

During his brief sting with the Brewers, Alexander was 2-3 with a 5.40 ERA in 18 games (11 starts).

Former Milwaukee Brewers Pitcher Jason Alexander Had Not Appeared in a Major League Game Since 2022

Prior to signing with the Brewers organization in November of 2021, Alexander joined the Los Angeles Angels franchise as an undrafted free agent in 2017. In June of 2020, though, he was released by the Angels and picked up by Miami Marlins, with whom he spent the 2021 season.

Alexander enjoyed a great deal of success with Triple-A Nashville that season, going 8-2 with a 2.84 ERA in 13 games (10 starts). He had not experienced that level of production in any of his previous minor league seasons, and it earned him his first Major League call-up.

Unfortunately, he struggled in 2023 with Milwaukee’s minor league system and did not return to the Majors. He became a free agent after the season.

In 2024, he was signed by Boston Red Sox, but did not make it back to the Majors. This past offseason, he signed with the Athletics and was eventually called up for the first time in nearly three years. However, he is currently 0-0 with an 18.00 ERA at the Major League level this year.

After being released by the A’s, Alexander was picked up by the Astros and assigned to their Triple-A team. In four games (three starts) for them, he is 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA.
