Former MLB Player Reveals Bold Prediction for Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are coming off an offseason where they were extremely busy.

Boston traded four prospects, including two that were consensus top 100, to the Chicago White Sox to acquire starter Garrett Crochet. Also, they added two-time World Series champion Walker Buehler via free agency.

The final piece of the puzzle was signing former Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman to a deal that will total $120 million.

Naturally, many analysts have spoken about how the team has drastically improved. One of those would be former MLB third baseman Trevor Plouffe. Speaking on Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Baseball Podcast", Plouffe has high expectations for Boston.

"I think their ceiling is about as high as it gets man. I think that they can win the World Series, I really do" Plouffe stated while previewing Boston's 2025 season.

This would be a stark difference from what the Red Sox have done in recent memory. Boston has missed the playoffs each of the last three seasons, and has not won the division since 2018.

Later on in the episode, Plouffe also said "I think they are going to win the AL East." This remark is on the heels of the New York Yankees revealing that star pitcher Gerrit Cole will undergo Tommy John surgery, and will miss the entire 2025 season.
