Former MLB Star Paul Lo Duca Was In 'Bad Accident'

In the mid-2000s pitcher Paul Lo Duca ranked among baseball's best catchers, making the All-Star Game for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Florida Marlins and New York Mets between 2003 and 2006. But now the former MLB star is just happy to be healthy.

Taking to X on Wednesday, Lo Duca revealed that he recently suffered a "bad accident" while going back to his home in New York after a trip to Oakland Hot Springs in Arkansas for horse racing. He said that it prevented him from eating properly for "the first couple weeks" due to multiple fractures but stated that he's getting stronger now.

"I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I was involved in a bad accident coming back home to New york from Oaklawn. I was not able to eat for the first couple weeks because of multiple fractures but I’m getting stronger!" Lo Duca wrote.

Fans on social media were happy to hear that he's doing so well and offered thoughts and prayers to his recovery.

Lo Duca played 11 seasons in Major League Baseball for four different teams, finishing his career with 1,112 hits, 80 home runs, 481 RBIs and a .286 batting average in 1,082 games.

In the years since Lo Duca retired from baseball he has worked as a horse racing and gambling analyst for TVG and Barstool Sports.
