Former Padres Outfielder Lands With Phillies on MiLB Deal
USA TODAY Sports

Former San Diego Padres outfielder David Dahl has a minor league agreement in place with the Philadelphia Phillies.

The deal will become official pending a physical.

Dahl played in four games with the Padres last season after missing all of 2022. A strained quad sidelined him for two months, and San Diego opted to release him in June.

He broke in with Colorado in 2016 and proved to have a capable bat during his time with the Rockies, slashing .286/.334/.494/.828 with 43 home runs and 161 RBIs. He was named a National League All-Star in 2019 when he batted .302 with 15 homers and 60 RBIs.

Dahl has struggled to produce since 2020. He spent 2021 with Texas and had nine at-bats with the Padres last year. He had one hit.

He finished last season in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system.

The former first-round pick is a career .271 hitter with 43 home runs and 161 RBIs in 1,152 at-bats.
