Former Red Sox great Manny Ramirez wants to return to baseball

Well, this may be as odd as it is interesting, but also cool at the same time? Former Boston Red Sox star Manny Ramirez reportedly wants to return to baseball, and he has his eyes on the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan, according to ESPN.

Ramirez reportedly told the Taiwan Times that he's hoping to land a roster spot in the CPBL, and that his return would hopefully boost attendance.

The 48-year-old had a stint with the EDA Rhinos in 2013, so he wouldn't be unfamiliar with the sceen in Taiwan. He averaged .352 at the plate with eight home runs and 43 RBIs in 49 games with the Rhinos.

The CPBL began its season on April 11 amid the coronavirus pandemic, but no spectators are allowed in the stadiums.

Ramirez spent eight years with the Red Sox, batting .312 with 274 home runs and 868 RBIs while also winning two World Series titles and MVP during the 2004 World Series.

If he does return to the CPBL, it'll be interesting to see how he performs, because he is not exactly a spring chicken.
