Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Joey Wiemer is on the move again after being claimed by the Washington Nationals, according to Robert Murray of Fansided.

The former University of Cincinnati outfielder was traded to the Reds from the Milwaukee Brewers in 2024 for Frankie Montas. However, Wiemer appeared in just two games with Cincinnati before being traded to the Kansas City Royals in the Jonathan India - Brady Singer swap last offseason.

Since then, Wiemer has bounced around multiple teams. In 27 games with the Miami Marlins last season, the 26-year-old slashed .236/.279/.436 with five extra-base hits.

After the season, Wiemer was traded to the San Francisco Giants for cash after being designated for assignment.

Wiemer was drafted by the Brewers in the fourth round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of the University of Cincinnati. He made his MLB debut on April 1, 2023, against the Chicago Cubs, going 1-2.

The outfielder was Milwaukee's No. 3-ranked prospect in the 2023 season.
