Former Minnesota Twins infielder Ehire Adrianza has called it a career after 12 MLB seasons.
Adrianza played for Minnesota from 2017 to 2020, one of five teams he has played for since entering the league in 2013.
He signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Angels in February and started the season in Triple-A. He never made it to the big league club during the 2024 season, ending up on the injured list and ultimately being released in June.
Adrianza announced his retirement on his Instagram on Tuesday.
"I still find it hard to believe that I have had the honor of playing more than a decade in the major leagues," he said. "I never imagined I would achieve so much, and it's astonishing to reflect on this experience."
Adrianza won two World Series titles with the San Francisco Giants (2014) and Atlanta Braves (2021).
In 624 career games for the Giants (2013-16), Twins (2017-20), Braves (2021-24), Washington Nationals (2022) and Angels, he hit .237 with 22 home runs and 151 RBIs.
