Former Yankees great still gets paid for Seinfeld appearance

Paul O'Neill was not only a huge part of the New York Yankees dynasty in the 1990s, he was also one of the many professional baseball players to make an appearance on the hit TV show Seinfeld. That appearance was brought up during Thursday's Yankees game against the Houston Astros, with O'Neill being asked by David Cone if he still sees any residuals from that appearance given the show's continued popularity in syndication.

It turns out, he does.

About $57 on each check.

O'Neill appeared in a Season 7 episode called, "The Wink," in which he's approached by Kramer in the team's locker room. O'Neill is informed that Kramer had promised a sick kid that he would hit two home runs in that night's game. The shocked and dismayed O'Neill then argues that it is hard to hit home runs and that he is simply not a home-run hitter.

Other pro baseball players to make cameo appearances during the show's run include Danny Tartabull (twice), Buck Showalter, Keith Hernandez, Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter.
