The New York Mets have gotten off to a great start in 2025, but they encountered a recent losing streak over the past few games, facing the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
Fortunately, the Mets managed to snap that three-game skid on May 21, defeating the Red Sox at Fenway Park to avoid a sweep.
Along with third baseman Brett Baty (3 RBI), starting pitcher Tylor Megill (10 strikeouts) and reliever Huascar Brazoban (2.1 IP plus win), superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor shined on Wednesday evening. Going 2-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and a late solo home run to put the game out of reach.
After the final pitch was thrown and the victory was secured, Lindor spoke with MLB Network reporter Jon Morosi down on the field. And he had an honest admission for fans.
"Don't let what happened yesterday dictate how we play today. It's just the mentality."@Lindor12BC joins @jonmorosi after the @Mets picked up a big win in tonight's #MLBNShowcase ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/L69CQV3x8x

"You gotta come out and be aggressive, you know," Lindor told Morosi. Acknowledging: "We haven't had the best week that we wanted. We talked about it. Continued to stay aggressive."
"Don't let what happened yesterday dictate how we play today," the Mets team leader added. "It's just the mentality."
Lindor went on to compliment Megill, Brazoban, Baty, reliever Reed Garrett and catcher Luis Torrens for their contributions against the Red Sox.
As for fellow superstar Juan Soto, who had an RBI sacrifice fly on Wednesday night, Lindor voiced that "he's incredible."
"The pressure that gets thrown on [Soto]," he explained, "not that he takes it [badly], he seems like nothing really fazes him. He's still the same guy, he's working hard, and to have a big at-bat like that... If it wasn't a windy night, he would have hit it out. He would have hit a grand slam. And it would have been a completely different ballgame."
