Atlanta will always have a special place in Freddie Freeman’s heart, but Atlanta Braves fans didn’t seem to care about that on Tuesday.
Freeman, who spent several years of his incredible MLB career with Atlanta, received boos from Braves fans during Game 3 of the 2026 National League Division Series against his former team at Truist Park in Atlanta, Ga.
Freeman didn’t mind the boos, however, saying that it’s all part of the game.
“I got a [Dodgers] uniform on. I expect boos. It’s ok. Like I’ve always said, I’ve enjoyed my 12 years in this organization, the big leagues, 15 overall,” said Freeman, who won a National League Most Valuable Player Award and a World Series with the Braves in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
“It’s a great place to play. They packed the house out. I’ve had wonderful experiences with the white uniform on here, and I loved every second of it. I get it. This is a game.”
"I’ve got a great @Dodgers uniform on; I expect the boos." Former @Braves player Freddie Freeman says it’s all love, and he doesn’t "expect" for Braves fans to cheer for him in October. He got booed right before he launched a home run off of Chris Sale tonight. @WJBFSports https://t.co/nt0wpuZULc

Despite the harmless animosity from Atlanta fans, Freeman came through under pressure. After Enrique Hernandez launched a two-run home run to break a scoreless tie in the fourth inning, Freeman hit a solo home run off Braves starter Chris Sale to stretch the Dodgers’ lead to 3-0.
Los Angeles came away with a 3-1 victory to claim a 2-1 series advantage.
The reigning World Series champs can close out the Braves on Wednesday, with Tyler Glasnow expected to get the ball for the Dodgers.
Through three games in the postseason, Freeman has hit 4-for-11 with two home runs.
