Full List of Atlanta Braves Club Options

Among the decisions the Atlanta Braves have to make in the near future, the team has to decide on the club options of five players. Most of which are pretty cut and dry, but there are some conversations that must be had surrounding a couple of these guys.

Atlanta Braves 2026 Club Options

Ozzie Albies ($7 million option, $4 million buyout)

The decision on Ozzie Albies’ club option became a little more difficult when he suffered another broken bone in his left wrist, the same wrist he fractured in 2024. That injury appeared to linger into 2025 and really gave him difficulties until about the second half of the season when he began to look like himself again. There should be concerns about what he will provide the Braves in 2026, but his upside and clubhouse presence alone make this $3 million decision easy. Ozzie Albies’ option will be picked up.

David Fletcher ($8 million option, $1.5 million buyout)

Yes, the Atlanta Braves are still paying David Fletcher, who they acquired a couple of offseason ago. He did not appear for the club all season and even spent some time in the minors attempting to pitch as a knuckleballer. The Braves will not be picking up his option.

Chris Sale ($18 million option, no buyout)

$18 million for arguably the best pitcher in baseball? There’s really no decision here; the bigger question is whether the Braves will be able to convince Chris Sale to sign an extension, keeping him in Atlanta for a couple of more seasons at a reasonable rate.

Tyler Kinley ($5 million option, $750k buyout)

One of the under the radar acquisitions of the entire trade deadline, Tyler Kinley arrived in Atlanta has been absolute nails ever since, posting a 0.72 ERA over 24 appearances. The Braves’ gamble appears to have paid off, as they managed to find an inexpensive piece to help their bullpen next season.

Pierce Johnson ($7 million option, $250k buyout)

Another relatively easy decision for the Braves. Pierce Johnson has become one of the league’s most reliable relievers since the Braves acquired him from the Rockies at the 2023 trade deadline, posting a 2.91 ERA over 147 innings since moving to Atlanta.
