Game Recap: Red Sox Home Woes Continue

Both teams were strong on the mound tonight, but the Phillies were just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over the Red Sox. 

Jovani Morán started the game for Boston as the opener, and he allowed a solo home run to Kyle Schwarber, which made it 1-0 Phillies. The Phillies added to that lead in the second as Bryson Stott doubled home a run. The Red Sox got one back on a single by Ceddanne Rafaela.

Zack Wheeler earned the win for the Phillies. The righty allowed six hits and one run over seven and one-third innings, striking out four and walking none. Brayan Bello, after the opener, pitched six and one-third innings in relief for the Red Sox. The righty surrendered four hits and one run while striking out five and walking one. Morán took the loss for Boston. The lefty went one inning, allowing one run on one hit, striking out two and walking none. Jhoan Duran earned the save.

Player of the Game

Bryson Stott led the Phillies with two hits. He had the game-winning RBI with his double in the second. He finished the game going 2-4 with a double and an RBI.
