LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne and her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates RHP Paul Skenes, posed for the latest edition of GQ Magazine. The portrait was completed alongside their dog, Roux.
It wouldn’t be hard to make the case that Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes are the archetypal Gen Z power couple

Dunne and Skenes started dating in 2023. Dunne was — and still is — a member of LSU’s gymnastics team. Skenes was the best player in college baseball, leading the Tigers to a College World Series victory that season.
Dunne commands the spotlight with everything she does. She has a $4.1 million NIL valuation, per On3, and 5.4 million Instagram followers. Dunne is returning to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for the third year. She shared multiple Instagram photos and videos of her shooting for the issue that will be released in May.
Skenes is much more reserved. The way he handles the spotlight is far different from Dunne.
“I view it as, it’s not my job to take pictures with these people, it’s my job to throw, and them wanting to take pictures is getting in the way of that,” Skenes told Sam Schube of GQ. “But she always handles everything very well — she’s very comfortable to be around for other people who come up and ask to talk, that kind of thing. I mean, she never says no to a picture. I say no to them.”
Skenes has been one of the best pitchers in MLB since making his debut last May. The 2024 National League Rookie of the Year made his season debut last Thursday against the Miami Marlins. He went 5 1/3 innings, surrendering three hits, two runs and striking out seven. Skenes became the fastest to go from No. 1 overall pick to his first Opening Day start, per MLB.com.
“Yeah, I mean, pretty damn good start,” Skenes said. “I got a little sloppy there at the end. Just gotta execute a little quicker in that sixth inning. Other than that, I was pretty happy with it.”
