The New York Yankees started their 2025 season in an outstanding fashion during their opening three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Yankees swept the NL Central club and outscored them 36-14 in the process.

However, their following series against the Arizona Diamondbacks started off oppositely. The Yankees lost each of their first two games against the Diamondbacks and were on the verge of being swept at home.

However, the Yankees stopped this from occurring on Thursday, as they defeated the Diamondbacks by a 9-7 final score in the final game of the three-game series. With this, the AL East club now has a 4-2 record on the season.

While speaking to reporters following the game, including the New York Daily News' James O'Connell , Aaron Judge revealed that Giancarlo Stanton sent the Yankees a clear message before their latest contest against Arizona: "We don't get swept at home."

Stanton's message clearly got through to the Yankees, as they stepped up and avoided getting swept by the Diamondbacks. Now, the team's goal will be to build on this win when they kick off their three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday.

Stanton is currently sidelined due to injuries with both of his elbows, but he is still making a difference with his leadership in the room with a message to the club like this. However, once the slugger is healthy and back on the field, the Yankees' lineup will undoubtedly get a major boost, as he is one of their top stars.

In 114 games this past season for the Yankees, Stanton had 27 home runs, 72 RBIs, and a .233 batting average.
