The San Francisco Giants announced Tuesday that Ron Wotus, the franchise's longest-tenured coach, plans to step down following the conclusion of the 2021 season.
"It's time for a bit more balance in my life," Wotus said in a statement, via CBS Sports. "My wife, Laurie, and my family have been there for me through all the ups and downs, all the travel and long hours, and now I want to be there for them."
Much of Wotus' statement was released on Twitter, including a blurb where he named some notable Giants players he has coached over the last decade.

Giants beat writer Alex Pavlovic reported the Giants and Wotus are looking for a role on the baseball operations side of things to give him so he can stay with the organization beyond the 2021 season.
