Has Alejandro Kirk Been Blue Jays Best Offensive Weapon in World Series?
Oct 27, 2025; Los Angeles, California, USA; Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk (30) celebrates after hitting a three-run home run during the fourth inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers in game three of the 2025 MLB World Series at Dodger Stadium. Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

The Toronto Blue Jays are arguably the most explosive team at the plate in baseball, which has been demonstrated time and time again in the postseason. Their bats have led them into their first World Series since '93 which is nearly halfway through.

There have been three games now played between the Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers with the Dodgers having a one-game lead. Now many players in the Jays lineup can make a play at anytime which is the big reason they are a nightmare for opponent's pitching staff.

So, despite their catcher Alejandro Kirk batting fifth in the lineup he has arguably made the biggest impact so far in the World Series. Kirk is a Silver Slugger so it isn't necessarily surprising that he is able to make plays for his team, but that was back in '22 and he wasn't even nominated as a finalist this season.

Now when the time matters most and with a World title on the line he has stepped up in a big way against the best pitching staff in baseball.

Game one kicked off at Rogers Centre where the Blue Jays put on a hitting clinic against Blake Snell and the Dodgers' pitching staff where they finished their 11-4 victory with:

  • 14 Hits
  • 11 Runs
  • 23 Total Bases
  • 3 Home Runs
  • 2 RBI with Two-Outs
  • 4 Drawn Walks
  • 4 Strikeouts

Kirk went perfect in the opener as he had three of those hits, three runs, six total bases, a homer, both RBI with two-outs a walk and not a single strikeout. The numbers for game two weren't good for anyone on the Jays' roster so it is better to just skip over them entirely as they went up against Yoshinobu Yamamoto who was indescribable.

Game three kicked off at Dodger Stadium on Monday and it was Kirk who came through for the team when they were looking up from an early hole in the fourth winning. Their catcher hit his second homer of this series, this time a three-run long ball to take the lead.

It hasn't been out of character for Kirk to step up this offseason. He has been a vital part to their October run where they took down the New York Yankees in the ALDS and then won the pennant against the Seattle Mariners.

After 14 playoff games he leads the team in RBI (13) and trails only Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in homers with five to complement his slash of .273/.339/.582.

The Blue Jays need every guy in the lineup to keep stepping up the way that Kirk is if they want to take down the reigning world champions. So far their catcher is doing his part on both sides of the ball for his team as the organization tries to bring this one home.
