Shohei Ohtani’s impact continues to stretch well beyond the field. A bat used by the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar to hit five home runs during his historic 2024 season—when he became the first major league player ever to reach the 50 home run/50 stolen base plateau—sold for an astonishing $300,000 at SCP Auctions’ Fall Premier sale, which closed Saturday night. The auction house confirmed it was a new record for any Ohtani bat, calling the photomatched Chandler model “game-used and signed” with a PSA/DNA GU 10 grade.
Another remarkable Ohtani artifact also drew major attention. The second home run ball he launched out of Dodger Stadium during his legendary three-homer performance in Game 4 of the 2025 NLCS sold for $270,000. SCP described it as part of “the greatest single-game performance in history,” and bidders treated it accordingly.

Vote For Your Favorite Dodgers Duo: Ohtani – Yamamoto, Betts – Freeman, Hernandez – Hernandez
The Dodgers’ 2025 World Series triumph produced its own high-value memorabilia. Will Smith’s game-winning home run ball from the 11th inning of Game 7 brought in $168,000, while Miguel Rojas’ game-tying ninth-inning blast sold for $156,000. Rojas’ shot holds a special place in baseball history—it was the first home run ever to tie a Game 7 in the ninth inning or later. Both baseballs were caught by a father-son duo, John and Matthew Bains, and authenticated by SCP’s operations chief Mike Keys.
Beyond Dodgers history, the auction featured several strong results across sports. Kobe Bryant’s shoes from Game 6 of the 2008 NBA Finals fetched $54,000, while a 1965–68 Willie Mays game-used bat sold for $48,000. A 1948 George Mikan rookie card graded PSA NM-MT 8 reached $120,000, and a rare 1850s Louis Wadsworth signature realized $39,000.
Even with an array of headline items, it was Ohtani’s bat—an artifact of a once-in-a-generation season—that stood above the rest.
