Houston Astros Injury Update: Latest News on Mauricio Dubon and Jose Altuve
USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros received some good news on the injury front when manager Dusty Baker announced that second baseman Mauricio Dubon's injury is nothing serious.

Baker hopes to have Dubon back in the lineup when the team faces the White Sox in Chicago starting on Friday, May 12.

"He's better," Baker told the Houston Chronicle prior to the Astros facing the Angels on Wednesday, May 10. "We dodged a bullet and got him out of there in time. He's not too bad."

Dubon, who has been the Astros starting second baseman while awaiting the return of All-Star Jose Altuve, is slashing .287/.306/.357 (129 at-bats) this season with six RBI and three stolen bases.

Altuve, meanwhile, remains ahead of his recovery schedule and will likely begin a rehab assignment in the very near future.

According to MLB.com, Altuve took live batting practice on Tuesday, May 9 at Triple-A Sugar Land as he awaits a return to the Majors.
