The Cleveland Indians will likely trade shortstop Francisco Lindor this offseason, but with plenty of suitors, it's hard to say which team will be lucky enough to land the star.
According to MLB Network's Jon Morosi, though, the Indians "would love for the Mets to be heavily involved" in a Lindor trade. He adds that a deal wouldn't be made quickly, which would allow time for the Mets, who are under new ownership, to get involved if they choose to do so.
I expect Francisco Lindor to be dealt this offseason, as @BNightengale has reported, but I was told today a trade is unlikely to happen quickly. The #Indians would love for the #Mets to be heavily involved, but it will take time for new front office to set priorities. @MLBNetwork

It's no surprise the Indians reportedly would like the Mets to be involved in a trade. New York has plenty of young prospects at shortstop, including Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez and Ronny Mauricio, who is the organization's top-ranked prospect.
Lindor turns 27 next week and is one of baseball's best at his position. He certainly would be a huge addition for any World Series-contender. He's scheduled to become a free agent after the 2021 campaign, so any team willing to trade for him must also be willing to keep him around on a long-term deal.
Lindor is a four-time All-Star, two-time Gold Glover and two-time Silver Slugger. Last season he averaged .258 at the plate with eight home runs, 27 RBIs and a .750 OPS. He's a career .285 hitter.
