With a 55-37 record, the Houston Astros have established themselves as one of the top teams through the first half of the MLB season and are now in first place in the AL West.

However, they find themselves looking to avoid a sweep against the Cleveland Guardians after already losing the first two matchups of their three-game series.

Win or lose, though, the team has a reason to celebrate, as MLB announced that third baseman Isaac Paredes was named to the All-Star Game roster to replace the Guardians' Jose Ramirez.

Following the announcement, the Astros reshared the news on X and wrote, "The Paredes Party is headed to Atlanta."

Throughout the season, Paredes has totaled some solid numbers. He's appeared in 88 games, accumulating 329 at-bats, 84 hits, 49 runs scored, 19 home runs, 49 RBIs and 47 walks.

Those totals are accompanied by an impressive slash line of .255/.358/.471 with a .829 OPS, which currently sits as the highest of any qualified hitter on the Astros.

This is also his second selection for an All-Star Game. He first received this honor last year, when he played with both the Tampa Bay Rays and the Chicago Cubs.

This also marks Paredes's only season under contract with the Astros as part of his one-year $6.6 million contract signed this offseason, meaning they will need to shell out some money to keep the two-time All-Star.

Considering he's only 26 years old, it may be at a significant price tag, as Spotrac predicts that his market value will earn him a new nine-year, $236.8 million contract.
