It's reportedly 'Arizona or bust' for MLB amid coronavirus outbreak

Major League baseball has discussed a numerous amount of options for how the season can begin amid the coronavirus outbreak. Apparently, though, it's Arizona or bust for MLB, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Passan says that a Arizona-Florida structure will not work because of the traveling and players would be unwilling to go overseas to play baseball. That leaves us with the Arizona plan, and quite honestly, it makes a lot of sense if they do want to play the 2020 season.

Some players have already voiced their displeasure with any sort of deal revolving around the idea of isolating themselves completely and leaving their families behind for a while. However, a lot of unmarried players like the idea of playing in Arizona, especially because they just want the season to begin.

Passan also notes that the hope would be for the "Arizona plan" to be temporary and for teams to be able to return to their home cities once the coronavirus pandemic is under control.

While the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to stretch into at least next month, if not further, we may be waiting a long time to see baseball return. Especially considering players need time to get in shape before competitive play begins.
