Travis Jankowski didn't let a little rain bother him as the left-handed hitter's RBI single in the ninth inning was enough to push the Tampa Bay Rays over the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Saturday afternoon.
Jankowski's ground-ball single to left field scored center fielder Kameron Misner, giving the Rays two straight home victories. It's been so hard for Tampa Bay to get traction in the win column at their makeshift home this season.

Even an in-game rain delay, the first in the Rays' franchise history, didn't keep them from getting another victory. Milwaukee reliever Trevor Megill gave up the game-winning hit. Jankowski had two hits in the game for Tampa Bay.
There were some nervous moments in the top of the ninth, though. Rays closer Pete Fairbanks didn't get any support from the Tampa Bay infield. Third baseman Junior Caminero had an errant throw and first baseman Jonathan Aranda couldn't cleanly field a grounder, according to MLB.com.
With one out, Fairbanks walked Rhys Hoskins to give Milwaukee a bases-loaded situation. But the Rays' ace closer gathered himself just in time. He got Sal Frelick to pop out and retired Caleb Durbin, keeping the game at 2-2 and setting up the ninth-inning fireworks.
Fairbanks got the win, going to 3-1 on the season. Brewers reliever Grant Anderson (1-2) took the loss, The Associated Press reported.
The weather also was part of this game, too. A few showers delayed the game's first pitch by 27 minutes, then the tarps were pulled onto the field in the fifth inning. Those were the first rain delays in the Tampa Bay franchise's history. Of course, the Rays have played their home games at Tropicana Field.
