With their 11-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night, the Arizona Diamondbacks have now won eight of their last twelve games, averaging 5.8 runs per game during this hot streak, including 18 home runs.
Christian Walker has been a key contributor to this power surge, hitting three of those 18 home runs in the past two games. Walker blasted two homers on Thursday night after going deep on Wednesday. He now has 15 home runs this season, putting him on pace to finish with over 30 home runs for the third consecutive year.

But Walker was not the only one making headlines. Joc Pederson revealed that he had borrowed Walker’s bat, which seems to have brought him some luck. Pederson cleared the bases with a grand slam, marking his first as a member of the Diamondbacks. He finished the night with five RBIs, his highest single-game total since September 2nd, 2022.
Walker humorously commented on Pederson’s habit of using other players’ bats, saying, “The only bats he doesn’t use are his own bats, yeah he’s a bat guy.”

Though Pederson does not see regular playing time, he has made the most of his opportunities at the plate. The 32-year-old is now hitting .286 this season with eight home runs.
The Diamondbacks aim to keep their momentum going as they face the Chicago White Sox in a three-game series starting Friday at Chase Field.
