When you’re out for the season after a surgery, there’s not exactly a lot to smile about.
But you can always try to make the best out of a bad situation.
A perfect example of that is Joey Votto.
The Cincinnati Reds have had a season to forget in 2022, and that’s putting it nicely.
But their star first baseman, even in the midst of such a hard year, still has found a way to keep his sense of humor intact.
Last night, he was on the Reds’ broadcast and was asked by Barry Larkin if he had paid any attention to the adjustments his teammate Aristides Aquino has made at the plate, leading up to his resurgence.
Votto replied by saying, “No, I don’t watch baseball Barry.”

One thing is very clear.
The sense of humor that Votto possesses has not gone anywhere, even after his season-ending surgery.
That’s hard to do in the midst of such a difficult season.
But Votto is one of the funniest guys in the league and never disappoints with his sense of humor.
Clearly, he’s having a blast on the Reds’ broadcast.
And why wouldn’t he?
Reds fans can at least have a little distraction from their terrible season when Votto cracks some jokes.
He’s always good for some of that.
It’s nice to see that his sense of humor has survived intact.
Reds fans can only hope he does a little more of this before he actually gets back out onto the field next year.
If he isn’t on the field and can’t amaze people with his play, he’s got a fallback option, and that’s cracking jokes while being a guest in the Reds’ broadcast booth.
