Josh Jung, Jace Jung deliver special gift to their mother on Mother's Day

Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung and his younger brother, Detroit Tigers third baseman Jace, certainly gave their mother an unforgettable Mother's Day.

On Sunday, the Detroit Tigers hosted the Texas Rangers in the third game of their three-game series. Mary Jung, the mother of the third basemen, attended the game. Citing MLB Research, Sarah Langs of MLB.com shared that they're the seventh pair of brothers to play against each other on Mother's Day in the last 45 years.

Before the game started, she delivered the first pitch wearing a custom uniform featuring both of her sons, and they joined her on the mound.

Subsequently, Josh Jung gave her even more reason to celebrate. In the top of the fifth inning, he crushed a 95 mph sinker from Tiger relief pitcher Beau Brieske for a 392-foot two-run homer into left center field, giving the Rangers a 5-0 lead. (Left fielder Evan Carter scored.)

Citing Elias Sports Bureau, the Texas Rangers PR team shared Josh Jung's homer was the first by a player playing against his brother on Mother's Day since at least 1969.

The Rangers beat the Tigers, 6-1. Josh Jung, 27, went 2-for-4 at the plate with one homer and two RBI. Meanwhile, Jace Jung, 24, went 0-for-3 at the plate.

Mary Jung didn't seem to care who won or lost. She just seems proud of both of her sons.

"My heart is just exploding. I mean, I couldn't ask for a better Mother's Day gift," she said during an interview with the Rangers telecast. "We're all in the same place to begin with. But then to watch them live their dream, do what they love to do. I couldn't be more proud."
