Fresh off winning International Pitcher of the Week honors for his career-high 11 strikeout performance over six shutout innings last week, Braves #2 prospect JR Ritchie tossed another gem on Sunday afternoon. He extended his scoreless innings streak to 11 in consecutive starts and tallied seven more punch outs.
Over his last four starts, JR Ritchie has not allowed a run in three of him. Opponents are hitting just .132 against him, as he’s tallied 27 strikeouts over 20.1 innings.
Ritchie has improved with each passing start this season. His ERA with the Stripers is now down to 3.19, and on the year, he boasts a 2.64 ERA over 23 starts between High-A Rome and AAA Gwinnett. He’s firmly entrenched himself in the conversation for a spot in the 2026 rotation with a solid offseason, another fantastic development for the Braves, who desperately need more competent starting pitching depth.
