Nothing summed up the mood of the Seattle Mariners’ clubhouse on Monday than the frustrated scream let out by Julio Rodriguez after his team lost Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.
The Mariners fell 4-3 to the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre in Toronto, On. on Monday, narrowly missing out on their first World Series appearance in franchise history. Reporters were allowed into a very quiet and somber clubhouse after the defeat.
Some very real frustration came out, though. As reporters were speaking to Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo, a loud scream of frustration could be heard off-camera.

KCPQ Seattle reporter Aaron Levine confirmed on X that Rodriguez was the player screaming in frustration.
One can’t blame Rodriguez for a very natural reaction after such a brutal loss. It definitely doesn’t help that the outfielder was responsible for the final out of the series, and basically got himself out by being too aggressive.
Rodriguez was one of Seattle’s most dangerous hitters throughout the playoffs, and hit three home runs in the ALCS. It wasn’t enough in series that went all the way to seven games, and that is going to bother him for quite some time.
