Player Spotlight

Today we turn our attention to Will Robertson and Tanner Morris

Tanner Morris started at 2nd base and batted 8th for the Buffalo Bisons on Sunday. Tanner extended his hit streak to 6 games, going 3-for-4 with a run scored. After batting just .232 in June, Morris owns a .381BA in five July games. In 52 games, Tanner Morris owns a .261/.352/.372 slash with 13 doubles and 3HR. He’s walked 26 times and struck out 49 times.

Will Robertson is one of those prospects that I’ve really wanted to succeed since being drafted in 2019. He has all the ingredients but he’s struggled to make consistent contact throughout his 279 professional games. This season hasn’t been much different. Robertson batted just .116 in April and .145 in June, hitting over the Mendoza line with May with a .231BA. Fortunately, Will has hit power with 8 home runs over the first 3 months. But Robertson has been on a stretch unlike another stretch in the past, collecting hits in 7 straight games. Playing LF and batting 4th for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Will Robertson went 1-for-4 with a single and strikeout; however, in July he’s hit 5 doubles and a home run. More importantly, Robertson has pushed his batting average above .200 for the first time since May 16th. In 62 games, he has 14 doubles, a triple, and 9HR while slashing .207/.298/.408.

Leo Jimenz On-Base Streak

Leo went 1-for-4 with a single, a walk, and two strikeouts. His on-base streak was extended to 19 games. With his single, Jimenez has a 5 game-hit streak pushing his batting average to .291 with a .367OBP and .451SLG.

Alan Roden has an active 12-game hit streak and has reached base in 13 straight games.

Davis Schneider has an active 14-game on-base streak and a 5-game hit streak.

Michael Turconi has an active 14-game on-base streak.

Steward Berroa has an active 12-game on-base streak and a 3-game hit streak.

Damiano Palmegiani has an active 9-game on-base streak with a single in 5ABs.
