Kyle Schwarber is in the midst of the best season of his career. On Monday, he smashed home run No. 53 on the season, a new career high, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also collected RBI No. 128 on the season in the process (also a career high). The Philadelphia Phillies designated-hitter has now driven in at least 100 runs in three straight seasons.
While Schwarber continues to mash baseballs nearly every night, he has helped lead his Phillies to their fourth straight postseason appearance. Schwarber is in his fourth season with the team as well.
After a tightly-contested game on Monday against the Dodgers, it took extra innings for the Phillies to get the job done after their bullpen gave up a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Phillies would come away with a 6-5 victory, in 10 innings, to clinch the National League East title for the second consecutive season.
Despite being on the road, at Dodger Stadium, that didn't stop Schwarber and his Phillies teammates from having an epic celebration. Schwarber found himself in a vulnerable moment after the game, inside the clubhouse, and the entire thing was caught on camera.
"I'm hammered!" Schwarber yelled after funneling what appeared to be beer.

While Schwarber appeared to be inebriated, he also looked to be having the time of his life. Standing next to a shirtless, Bryce Harper, as the entire Phillies roster shouts, "bang, bang!", Schwarber seems pretty happy to be headed back to the postseason.
With their division-clinching victory on Monday, the Phillies now hold the second best record in the league (90-61), trailing only the Milwaukee Brewers (91-59). The Phillies also became the first team in MLB to clinch their division.
While the Phillies were in the World Series in 2022, they haven't won a World Series title since 2008. Schwarber and his Phillies teammates will look to bring a championship back to Philadelphia this postseason, but first they'll likely need their home run slugging DH to sober up.
