He slashed .500/.636/1.188 (8-16) with two doubles, three home runs, six walks, six RBI and seven runs scored with a 1.824 OPS over five games vs. Class AAA Round Rock from 5/20-25. pic.twitter.com/WsZ25fFpyv
The MLB’s 28th-ranked prospect has lived up to the billing thus far for Triple-A Charlotte. On the year, he owns a .296 batting average, .397 on-base percentage, and .494 slugging percentage, with a 14.3% walk rate and seven home runs. Teel is an intriguing story because he will likely be up with the White Sox this year, and that date looks to be approaching soon if he continues to push the issue.
In fact, the catcher has a 19-game hitting streak and has been on base in 33 consecutive games.

The White Sox recalled Korey Lee after trading Matt Thaiss to the Rays, but Zach Teel is likely the next player to debut for the Sox. The Super Two cutoff for an extra year of eligibility occurs in early to mid-June, so if Teel continues to perform well, he could make his debut around that time. He has some outfield experience, which could make the roster changes interesting upon his debut.
Additionally, this may be the length of time Lee has left on the big-league roster before potentially being optioned.
The future White Sox roster is coming into focus as the Sox promote more of these top prospects.
