List of Braves free agents
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday, I talked about players with upcoming club options for the 2024 season that the club will have to decide on in less than a month. If you want to check that out, follow the link below. Today, it’s all about the Braves pending free agents.

Braves Upcoming Free Agents

Joe Jimenez

The Braves went out and traded for Joe Jimenez last offseason. He proved to be one of the team’s most valuable relievers by the end of the season, but unfortunately, the Braves didn’t get the job done in October. The bullpen needs to be a focal point for Alex Anthopoulos this offseason. I would love to have Jimenez back in the fold.

Pierce Johnson

Another player the Braves traded for, this time at the trade deadline. Johnson was nothing but filth after he was acquired from the Rockies, posting a 0.76 ERA over 24 appearances. He’s another guy the Braves need to make a priority this offseason.

Kevin Pillar

Pillar’s hard-nosed style of play quickly made him a fan favorite in Atlanta, but Alex Anthopoulos should probably look to upgrade left field this offseason. The Braves could look for an everyday player and also move on from Eddie Rosario, but at the very least, they need to bring in a better platoon option to pair with Rosario, one that has more pop.

Jesse Chavez

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why Chavez wasn’t included on the postseason roster. It didn’t end up mattering, though. He’s done nothing but shove his entire Braves career. At 40 years old, he’s a candidate to hang it up, but I have a feeling he’ll want another opportunity, and I’m giving him one if I’m the Braves.
