Los Angeles Angels confirm good news on Christian Moore after scary moment during series vs. Atlanta Braves

Christian Moore has been slowly but surely starting to come into his own as a regular with the Los Angeles Angeles.  After a slow start at the plate, the former Tennessee Vol has been working his average back up towards the .200 mark while getting more comfortable in the field.

However, that progress came to a halt on Wednesday night in Atlanta.  In the bottom of the sixth inning, Atlanta's Ozzie Albies hit a grounder up the middle that Moore dove for.  His hand got trapped underneath him and he remained on the ground in obvious pain.

Moore's glove hand appeared to get folded underneath him, and it appears his left thumb was bent in the process.  The prognosis from the team is a left thumb strain, a welcome report that the thumb was not broken or that there wasn't ligament damage.  The Angels put Moore on the 10-day injured list on Thursday, which makes him eligible to return after the All-Star break.

Moore was called up by the Angels on June 13 and has appeared in 18 games for the Angels since.  He's posted a .189 average and .689 OPS with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs.
