The Los Angeles Angels had a historic 1st inning this evening on the road against the Boston Red Sox. LA is the first visiting team in Fenway Park history to hit three home runs in the 1st inning of a game. Shortstop Zach Neto hit a leadoff home run, Designated Hitter Mike Trout hit a three-run shot, and Center Fielder added a solo home run.
The Los Angeles Angels had a 6-0 lead before the Red Sox came up to the plate. Boston fought valiantly to lose Monday night’s game 7-6. The Angels finished the game with four round-trippers. Will this power display be a sign of things to come for the Los Angeles Angels?

It has been a poor start to the year for the Angels. They won eight consecutive contests in May but proceeded to lose five straight games. They are in fourth place in the American League West at 27-32. Even though LA’s offense played well tonight, they have not been good this season at the plate. They are 27th in the league in batting average, third in home runs, and 18th in runs scored. Left Fielder Taylor Ward is fifth in the league in home runs.
Los Angeles has also had some struggles on the mound in 2025. They are 25th in ERA, 28th in WHIP, and 27th in opposing batting average. It will be tough for the Los Angeles Angels to compete in the American League being weak both at the plate and on the mound.
Los Angeles’ offense will look to keep it going tomorrow night in the middle game of their three-game set against the Boston Red Sox. LA will have to lean on its offense until an awful pitching staff can begin to turn things around.
